FIB WHISKY COMES TO DRAM JAM

Fib Whisky, aka The Fife Whisky Company, is an independent bottler of Scotch whiskies. The name is inspired by the myths and legends of the earliest people to call Scotland home.

According to Pictish mythology, there was a King named Cruithne who had seven sons, Cait, Ce, Cirig, Fitla, Fib, Fidach and Fortrenn. Rather than choosing a single heir to rule his kingdom, Cruithne divided Pictland into seven separate kingdoms. Fib, the fifth son, was given the land between the Forth and the Tay. This region would eventually become the Kingdom of Fife.

The Fife Whisky Company was founded in 2021 by Aedan Andrejus Burt, a beloved figure in the Scotch whisky community. Aedan suffered a spinal injury at the age of just two, but strove to live his life to the fullest.

Born and raised in Fife, Aedan developed a love for Scotch whisky at St Andrews University, where he became involved with the Quaich Society. He went on to study Brewing and Distilling at Heriot-Watt.

Aedan sadly passed away after a short illness in 2023. His presence across the whisky sphere is very much missed.

Fib Whisky survived through Director, Iain Mundy. A musician by trade, Iain was introduced to whisky by Aedan, who convinced him to join his Fib adventure.

Under Iain’s leadership, Fib developed into an exciting and well-liked name in the independent bottling scene. He has since been joined at the helm by his brother, Andrew.

At Scottish Rogue, we love what Fib do. Their single cask whiskies are often experimental and creative, whilst their blends, like Pictish Beastie and Pictish Boar, are bold and delicious. We can’t wait to welcome them down to our home from home at The Old Toll Bar.
