ROGUE TRANSMISSION 002:
WHISKY TASTINGS AND PUB CRAWLS
Rogue Transmissions is a series of blog posts and newsletters bringing you all the latest goings on from Scottish Rogue
We wanted to tell you a wee bit more about ourselves, and what we’ve got coming up. If you haven’t already, please subscribe to our mailing list. That way, you’ll be the first to receive news about upcoming Scottish Rogue events.
JAZZY BURNS
On January 25th we teamed up with Plant Blonde and MXER to put on a bit of a show. Jazzy Burns was an alternative take on the traditional Burns Night. Plant Blonde made delicious vegan canapés. MXER played banging tunes to get everyone dancing. Finally, we brought drams and cocktails that showcased the best spirits from the Glasgow area.
We poured drams of Glengoyne, The Clydeside and Glasgow 1770. Our cocktails, meanwhile, were made using RAER Blended Scotch from Jackton Distillery. We made a bramble called Woah, Blackberry Brambleam and an Espresso Martini called S-Espresso.
At Scottish Rogue we’re really excited about the potential of nights like this. We love the traditions of Scotch whisky but we also want to push it in new directions and will try to do so at every opportunity. It was a real moment to see so many people dancing and smiling with Glencairn whisky glasses in their hand.
Huge thanks to all at Plant Blonde and MXER for letting us be a part of Jazzy Burns. Massive shout out to our brilliant bar staff and to all the lovely people who turned up to support something a wee bit different. You came with an open mind and we can’t really ask for anymore than that.

Scottish Rogue Pub Crawl Walking Tours
Our walking tours are officially up and running and for the duration of the Celtic Connections festival, there will be a bonus musical element to each experience. Walk the streets, learn the history, taste the drams – and now, enjoy the sounds.

ROGUES GALLERY VIRTUAL TASTING
Virtual tastings were one of the few good things to come out of the lockdowns. Not everyone has the luxury of attending whisky tastings in their local area so the idea of sample packs delivered straight to your door is an appealing one.
Our next online tasting takes place February 12th. It should be a fun, entertaining and educational night with six drams from interesting distilleries and bottlers.
On the lineup are…
Thompson Brothers 8-year-old North Highland Blended Malt
Black Bottle Captain’s Cask
Lindores – The Casks of Lindores II
Deanston 8-year-old Banyuls Cask Finish
Master of Malt Craigellachie 11-year-old
Bowmore Vault Edition First Release

There’s lots more events to come, including some in-person tastings in Glasgow so be sure to subscribe to be kept up to date.
